Featured Follower #12

Tuesday September 27th 2011
Each week we pick one of our followers Tumblrs and feature them prominently on our page. See it as our way to say ‘thank you’. With a little blog description and a lót of questions we’ll let you get to know your favourite bloggers a bit better, or introduce you to potential new favourites!

This week’s lucky one is xxgogetterxx.

Who? Anna, an 18 years old girl from Cheshire, and first year student at Liverpool John Moores University, studying Criminology and Psychology.
What? There’s a bit of Take That, a bit of Dr. Who, and a whole lot of Jedward!

Most used Tags: Jedward, John Grimes, Edward Grimes, Take That, Mark Owen, Celebrity Big Brother, Big Brother, Green Day.

The first 3 posts we get when we choose Random Post:
- A GIF from The Inbetweeners.
- Some Q&A.. although there’s not really any questions, or answers.
- A little piece written about being a true fan.

What we liked most:
Oh dear. We have to be honest: we quite enjoyed Jedward’s latest album but we don’t really care a lot about the boys. So erm.. a cute Britney GIF?

Having described the blog in short, it’s now time to get to know Anna a bit better…

Hi Anna, when and why did you start using Tumblr?
I signed up to Tumblr last Christmas when I got my snazzy laptop, purely because my sister was on it all the time and I was curious lol :) I didn’t have a clue what to do on it though, so I didn’t properly start using it until May/June this year. .

Where did your blog name come from?
My Tumblr name came from a song called Go Getter, which is on Jedward’s new album Victory. It’s an amazing song, so I changed my name the other day because I loved it so much.

What about the title ‘We Don’t Have To Pretend Anymore’ on the blog?
It’s a quote from Mark Owen of Take That fame ;) It’s from their documentary Look Back Don’t Stare, which for all of you who aren’t Take That fans is about Robbie Williams reuniting with the band for the Progress album, and Mark is talking about how the band have found a new honesty with each other, and the last line he says (and the last line of the documentary) is ‘We don’t have to pretend anymore’…so there you go ;) I just thought it was a really memorable line in the film for me, I’ve been a massive Take That fan for 5 years now, and Robbie coming back into the band was something I never thought would happen.

What’s the last post you ‘liked’, and why?
The last post I liked was a video of Jedward doing a Twitcam, where they’re miming and dancing to What The Hell by Avril Lavigne…I liked it because it involves Jedward (obviously, haha) and it’s just a really fun video. If I’m ever feeling down about anything, Jedward always manage to cheer me up, plus Edward from Jedward gets in the shower fully clothed and gets all wet…which I like a lot ;)

Besides checking your dashboard, are there any Tumblrs you check on a regular basis?
check jedwardgifs quite a lot, just because she’s great at making gifs ;)

What’s the greatest thing you’ve ever seen on Tumblr?
Oooh, that’s a hard one….well I don’t know about the greatest thing EVER, but I posted a video I saw on Youtube of Jedward singing Born This Way on their Bad Behaviour Tour which I thought was amazing, I actually think it’s better than Gaga’s version, so good ;)

What’s the first CD you ever bought, and what do you think of it now?
I can’t really remember the first album I ever bought, but the earliest album in my CD collection is American Idiot by Green Day, which I got when I was 11 in 2004…..it was an amazing album then, and I still think the same now, that’s the album that got me into Green Day, and now I’ve listened to all of their older stuff, they are one of my favourite bands, and they put on one of the best live shows I have ever seen.

Who are your favourite artists?
My absolute favourites are JEDWARD (but you probably already gathered that lol) and TAKE THAT. I also love Green Day, The Script, Arcade Fire, Robbie Williams, Example, Foo Fighters, Coldplay, Kasabian, U2, Britney Spears, Hurts, Ke$ha….the list could go on forever, my music taste is so crazy, I’ll listen to anything that’s got a good tune to it really, I’m not one of those people who sticks to one genre to try and be hip and cool….I’ll be the first person to admit that listen to some cheesy music, but I’m proud of it ;)

What’s your all-time and current favourite song?
My alltime favourite song has got to be either Never Forget or Rule The World by Take That, though Time Of Your Life by Green Day comes very close ;) My current favourite song is all in my name, it’s got to be Go Getter by Jedward, such a TUNE!

How about your favourite albums?
My alltime favourite albums are The Circus by Take That and American Idiot by Green Day, my current favourite album is Victory by Jedward, I have it on all the time :)

If you could recommend one album to other readers which one would it be?
Most of the albums I would recommend are well known, so I’m gonna stick with Victory by Jedward, because even though Popsessed readers will have heard of them, I know there’s still a lot of people out there who judge them without actually giving them a chance and listening to their music. This album is for people who just wanna get up and dance and have a good time, there’s not one bad song on the album.

What’s the best gig/concert you’ve ever been to?
The best gig I’ve ever been to has to be Take That’s Progress Tour 2011…I went to see the boys in Manchester on the 12th June, 4 days before my 18th birthday, and the show was absolutely SPECTACULAR. I had a standing ticket and me, my mum and my sister were stood in the middle of the stadium, between the main stage and the B stage, a few rows back from the walkway, so we had a really good view of everything that was going on.

It was the second time I’ve been to see them, I went to see them in 2009 on the Circus Tour, and even though it was an amazing show, I was stood at the back for that one because I’d been at the front of the queue to get in all day and threw up twice when I got in to the stadium (too much information, I know lol).

Robbie Williams came over the crowd when he was singing Feel, and he was so close to me, it was amazing :) Plus, there was a 60 foot robot called Om who lit up and stood up near the end of the show, I’ve never seen anything like it in my life. I loved when they were singing Never Forget and everyone did the We Will Rock You hand claps, I just looked around at everyone doing it at the same time and felt like I was part of a massive family, Take That fans are the best ;)

What’s your favourite song of 2011 thusfar?
Best song of 2011 so far has to be Feel So Close by Calvin Harris, such a cracking tune and something you can just have a good time to :)

And what’s this year’s best album thusfar?
Best album of 2011 so far for me has to be….Victory by Jedward! I sound like a broken record, but trust me, it is FAB!

Hit shuffle on your iPod: what are the first 5 songs to come up?
1: Moves Like Jagger by Maroon 5 (ft. Christina Aguilera)
2: Rock DJ by Jedward
3: Scream My Name by N-Dubz
4: R-Evolve by 30 Seconds To Mars
5: Nothing by The Script

If you could get one pop wish granted right now what would you wish?
If I could get one pop wish granted right now, I would LOVE to meet Take That, especially Mark Owen ;) They have been my idols since they got back together, and I would love to have a massive conversation about anything and everything with them, that would be amazing :)

What’s your favourite poprelated video?
My favourite pop related video is Jedward singing Lipstick at the Eurovision 2011 final in Dusseldorf in May this year. I love this video so much, because I watch Eurovision religiously every year, and when I heard Jedward were entering I was so excited, two of my favourite things put together, my life was made lol :) Even though I live in the UK, I wanted them to win it so much for Ireland, because they deserved it so much after all of the hate they got when they were on X Factor, they proved their haters wrong so much, and even though they only came 8th, the amount of European fans they have gained because of Eurovision is amazing, Lipstick went to number 1 in 5 countries and they’re touring in Sweden, Denmark and Russia, I’m just so proud at how far they’ve come since they first walked on to that X in 2009, they deserve all the success they have so much.

What’s your dearest poprelated possession?
Most of my pop related possessions are Take That related, so I’ll go with the Take That charm bracelet I bought at their gig in 2009, it’s got 5 charms on it, a clown, the Take That symbol, a top hat, an elephant and a disco ball, which are all things that relate to the Circus album/tour ;) I didn’t stop wearing it for about 6 months after the gig, but then it started to get a bit rusty so now it just stays in my jewellery box ;)

Since you like Jedward we take it you’re an X Factor fan.. With the auditions just being finished, who’s your favourite thusfar this year?
Haha, yes I do watch X Factor religiously, though I don’t think this year’s auditions have been the best, it just feels so different without Simon. My favourite so far has been Bradley Johnson, who sang The A Team by Ed Sheeran in Liverpool, he was shown on the last auditions show. I’ve never been a big fan of that song, but I loved his version, and he seemed like a nice person as well ;)

Besides music what are your main interests?
Well music is my main interest along with going to gigs but besides that…..can fangirling be classed as an interest? ;) I love social networking, addicted to Twitter and Tumblr, not really into Facebook anymore. I’m quite a boring person really, just like to watch telly, have a laugh with my mates, simple things really. I love to read as well, I’m such a bookworm ;) .

Our last Featured Follower BritSwiftKing asked: What is your favorite year for music?
My favourite year for music was 2006, purely because that is the first time I heard of Take That properly, when I heard Patience I instantly fell in love with them, and I’ve been a Take That fan ever since ;)

Why should people follow you on Tumblr?
People should follow me on Tumblr because my blog isn’t all serious, it’s just me talking about or reblogging what I like and what makes me happy :) If you’re a Jedward fan I think you’ll love it, and if you’re not, maybe my blog will convert you into one ;)

What would you like to know from our next Featured Follower?
I’d like to ask the next Featured Follower which band/singer is their guilty pleasure and why.

Is there anything else you’d like to share?
There’s not much else I’d like to share, so I’m gonna use this question to do some shameful plugging lol :) Follow me on Tumblr if ya don’t already, and my Twitter is @xxGo_Getterxx :) FOLLOW @PLANETJEDWARD AS WELL, YOU KNOW YOU WANT TO ;)

And last but not least, as our Featured Follower you may select one new song to be added to our Popsessed Top 5, so what will that be?
I’m gonna pick AKA…What A Life! by Noel Gallagher’s High Flying Birds, I am loving Noel’s solo stuff right now ;)

So there you go, another one of our followers you got to know just a little bit better!
Go on and check out that Tumblr!

We’ll be selecting another Featured Follower next week, and the odds of getting picked get worse with each week, so if you like us and you like getting more visitors to your blog make sure to follow, and enable your ask feature so we can contact you!
